The North Gwinnett PTSA has many opportunities to volunteer, both at the school and home.  

Care Team/Community Outreach: Coordinate with school staff to identify and support student and family needs within our school and local community.  Volunteers also coordinate with Grade Level Chairs to organize service project opportunities, including donation drives and community service events.   

Saving with Shopping: Manage, organize, and promote passive fundraising campaigns such as Box Tops, Amazon Smile, and Kroger/Publix.  Develop and manage the marketing/promotion of these programs to our community as well as identify additional opportunities for partnership.

Celebrate North:  Coordinate with the school administration to plan NGMS’s annual Celebrate North event held each spring. Responsibilities include organizing volunteers, coordinating vendors, ordering and purchasing supplies, decorating for the event, etc This event celebrates the vibrant fine arts and academic communities here at North Gwinnett.  The event includes musical performances, fine art exhibitions, classroom demonstrations and much, much, more.

Faculty & Staff Appreciation: Organizes celebrations throughout the year to show appreciation to the NGMS faculty & staff. Events include various breakfast/lunch events  as well as the selection, purchase and deliver of birthday gifts for all staff.  There are many ways to serve with this committee, from cooking your favorite dish or treat to purchasing needed items as well as coming in and serving lunch and breakfast.

Fundraiser: Work with the committee to plan and execute our annual fundraiser, which will raise the majority of our funds to support Teacher and Technology grants. This fundraiser is in the fall and has a wide variety of volunteer needs including marketing, money management, student engagement, artists and more!

Media Center: Assist the Media Center Specialist with recruiting and scheduling volunteers. If you are interested in volunteering in the Media Center please sign up at

Membership: Manage and promote PTSA memberships and donations to our students and their families as well our affiliation with Georgia and National PTA.

North Gwinnett Schools Foundation:  Serve as liaison between NGMS and the North Gwinnett Schools Foundation, specifically for their fall fundraising event.

Reflections: Organize, manage and promote the National PTA program, communicate contest theme and requirements to students, and ensure we are following contest guidelines.

Special Events – 6thGrade: Organize, promote, and manage events specific to 6thgrade, including a first semester Spirit Night and second semester social activity. This committee also works in conjunction with the Community Outreach Committee to develop and implement the 6th grade service project.

Special Events – 7thGrade: Organize, promote, and manage events specific to 7thgrade, including a first semester Spirit Night and second semester social activity. This committee also works in conjunction with the Community Outreach Committee to develop and implement the 7th grade service project.

Special Events – 8thGrade: Organize, promote, and manage events specific to 8th grade, including a first semester Spirit Night, service activities, and end of year celebration events.

Spirit Wear:  Manage the design, development, sales and promotion of spirit wear to the North Gwinnett community at various school functions and online.

Visibility: This committee consists of a team of volunteers that walk the halls of NGMS daily to provide a knowledgeable adult presence during the school day.   Shifts are available Monday through Friday at a time selected by the volunteer.

Volunteers Manage the volunteer database, including maintaining the email lists and work with an email platform to facilitate communication around volunteer needs.

Website:  Work with the PTSA Executive Committee to manage and create new content. Keep website updated and a primary source of information and engagement for the NGMS community. This is an excellent opportunity for a parent with limited daytime hours and website development/graphic design and marketing background or skills.
